Anybody know of a good *.ico editor for MSW that supports different file sizes and everything for a *.ico bundle?
Or what do you guys use to develop your MSW icons? Preferably freeware or if no free ones if it's really good not that expensive please (<$10) ^_^
Also anybody know of a *.ico (MSW) to *.icns (OSX) converter?
Thanks.
P.S. I know there's a TON of MSW icon editors out there I'm looking for one you've actually used in an app you've released and that you think is good. I half suspect half of those icon editors have spyware in them and stuff anyways i don't like downloading EXEs from sites I've never heard of. So please don't somebody just say "google it..." o.O
icon editor/creator ? Topic is solved

Many people don't know this, but you can create MSW icons with multiple sizes in the GIMP with each different size on a different layer (and the layer size dictated by the layer boundaries needs to be the size you want).
Then just use IconComposer on Mac. I don't remember if it's part of Apple's Development Tools package, but it is the standard way to make icns.
I hate looking for any other "icon editor" or "cursor editors" out there because there's just so much crap out there that comes bundled with all sorts of spyware and adware.

I haven't tried this, but it looks at least free, open source, no sypware and no time limits.

Icon Sushi Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

see the thread Open Discussion/External tools to help a programmer's plight...
Convert .bmp, .png, .jpg and more to and from the .ico format.
Handles alpha chanels within icons allowing for translucent and transparent icons. This means that you could develope button images with transparent effects like glass out of .png format images. Icon sushi also supports Vista icon formats and it's FREEEEEEEEEE.
