wxCrafter and GIF files for wxAnimation

Do you have a question about makefiles, a compiler or IDE you are using and need to know how to set it up for wxWidgets or why it doesn't compile but other IDE's do ? Post your questions here.

wxCrafter and GIF files for wxAnimation

Post by Parduz » Wed Feb 26, 2020 10:11 am

My app UI is "assembled" using wxCrafter, either as a standalone program on Windows or as plugin in Debian, then i develop and compile using Code::Blocks and g++.

wxCrafter creates a cpp files containing all the bitmaps (icons and images) i put in the controls with it, but does'nt do that with the GIFs i use for wxAnimation controls. The result is that i need to load the GIFs at runtime, and that i have to update them when i update my app which is something i'd need to avoid.

How can i have my GIFs "hardcoded" just like i have my bitmaps?

I don't know. But one place to look is this wxWiki page which discusses embedding pngs. I've no idea if gifs can be managed in the same way.
