Search ignores all words more than 14 characters long.
That's no good since wxWidgets has quite a lot of functions that are more than 14 characters long.
For instance, wxEnableTopLevelWindows is 23 characters long. Can't be searched for.

Re: Searching For Long Words
Hi
It seems you're wrong.
I've just tried the search of "wxEnableTopLevelWindows" and your previous post have been founded.
You shouldn't confuse "ignoring a word" and "not finding a word".
The search of "wxEnableTopLevelWindows" didn't give you any results because it wasn't present in any post in this forum before.
Regards
Xav'

Re: Searching For Long Words
OK. When it didn't find anything the search results page specifically told me "words more than 14 letters are ignored". It must have been kidding.

Hi
Try searching your 23 characters long word "wxEnableTopLevelWindows" : it finds this topic.
Now, try the same search but change one letter (or add one, to be sure the word can't be founded) : you'll get the message :

I'm sorry to say this, but it seems to be the case :Xangis wrote:OK. When it didn't find anything the search results page specifically told me "words more than 14 letters are ignored".

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: wxenabletoplevelwindowss.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.
Sorry for this remark : I should have test the search before replying.I wrote:You shouldn't confuse "ignoring a word" and "not finding a word".
