Suggestion for the development of WX: wxBenchmark

Post by Rohit Agarwal »

Since WX is a cross-platform library,
it is well suited for the development of an Application level benchmark
that can be used to compare app performance across different hardware configurations.
For example Geekbench is a performance benchmark.
Someone could develop an application level performance benchmark
that is all written in WX and emits a score grading the platform on which it runs.
This would not be a graphics benchmark or a CPU benchmark
but an application level benchmark that grades application level performance.

Such a benchmark could be useful in helping a user choose a PC to buy for example
when they're considering Linux, MSW or OSX which is often the case.
PC vendors could publish their wxBenchmark numbers when advertising their platform offerings
