I've read some discussions about "hard to start" and so on...

Maybe start with "Navigate to the build directory"? I think most developers in this know how to click on a download link.

any ideas what i can add or change?
maybe something like that could be included in the wx--starter-distribution (not only for visual studio.net 2003, also for vc6, mingw, gcc, xcode,...)
the program i used is wink:

also available for linux, so linux compilers shouldn't be a problem!

It's very well designed, but... I think you should skip the browse-download-install part (at the beginning, I though it was a Firefox-tutorial... :wink:)

a new version is up. i skipped the firefox-part :wink: and removed some pictures, which are not needed.
the result is: ca.0,6m -> much smaller
wxWidgets is nice
