I was upgrading my pc, so I put my old hard drive into the new pc to copy things across. I couldn't access my files because I had a password on my old user. So I tried to boot in safe mode to change the ownership on the files.
Safe mode crashed when it started up, froze on a file called gag30kx.sys. So I tried to boot up in VGA mode, when I booted up the resoltution was really low, I change the ownership on the whole folder, copied the files across and rebooted.
Now everytime I boot up the pc, it boots up and it appears to be exactly the same as it was in VGA mode. I can change ownership on files, and I can't change screen resolution back.
Can anyone help on getting it to boot up properly, or does anyone no why safemode didn't work?
Thanks
Mark
How to put my PC back
It sounds to me that you need to repair your copy of windows. Put the CD/DVD in and run it in repair mode.
