Post to Mailinglist with out getting mail(is it possible?)

Post by frog-o »

I found this web page
http://www.wxwidgets.org/support/maillst2.htm

and Read there howto but it is just a howto post curectly and get a good responce insted of Howto use them.

The main problem I have with the mailing list is I would like to send messages to the mailing list but not reseve there mail.

Is this possible?

If so can some one give me a step buy step howto?

I don't mind regersting but I don't whant there mail.

I try asking for help buy emailing

[email protected] and got this

"
Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the
[email protected] mailing list.

I'm working for my owner, who can be reached
at [email protected].

This is a generic help message. The message I received wasn't sent to
any of my command addresses.

Here is a list of the command addresses supported:

Send mail to the following for info and FAQ for this list:
<[email protected]>
<[email protected]><[email protected]>
" etc .....

This email address apperantly emails a deomon and dose not realy help you on the subject much. I then mailed

<[email protected]>
and
<[email protected]>

To see if they give any info on the subject they didn't realy help, infact when i email there faq it told me nonavilble yet.

I real don't think it a good idea to bug the owner since this type of qustion would be better served on the form so i post it here insted.

You can do this using Gmane, and just browse replies here.

Hi,

Or you can register with an email address that limits the replies. I use http://www.spamgourmet.com.

I actually do my (rare) mailing list posts through google groups, http://groups.google.com/groups?num=100 ... gle+Search for which I registered using a spamgourmet address.

Regards,

David

The link I give above pointed to gmane and i look at it read thou there faq(in there faq i saw you could post but did not tell me how.) and all over there website and could not find how to post. After much search I did find it on the main page wich the link gave me in a combobox labbled action.

At least I think that it is it? what the number left side of it?

When i give it my email address will it just return what ever is post in resonce to that thread or will it email me everything that it would when joining the mailing list?
Or will it not email me annything or something else?

Is google group somehow connected with mailing list ?

I thought google group was just another form of a form.

Would the above group be for devloper or user mailing list?

It archives it.

Users, which is the one you're most likely to want. Google doesn't do the dev list.
