Regarding devpak for 6.9beta Topic is solved

If you are using wxDev-C++ for your wxWidgets design, please ask your questions here instead of in IDE Related.

Regarding devpak for 6.9beta

Post by chris » Sun Feb 05, 2006 1:08 pm

Hi,

As seen in this thread some devpaks have problems with wxString::Format and friends when using 64 bit integers. I'd like to debug this some more and would like to ask the creator of the devpak for 6.9beta (which shows this behaviour) for two things:
1. The exact command used to build wx.
2. If possible, I'd like to have a devpak that's build exactly like the one in 6.9beta but with debugging enabled (to get some useful backtraces).

Is here the right place to ask this? NinjaNL, did you create the devpak?

TIA, Chris

Yes, I am guilty.

I built the libraries using the makefiles, and the compiling string, within a batch file, was

Code: Select all

set WXWIN=c:\\wxWidgets-2.6.2
path=c:\\Dev-Cpp\\bin;%path%

mingw32-make -f makefile.gcc BUILD=release MONOLITHIC=1 USE_OPENGL=1 USE_XRC=1 USE_ODBC=1 RUNTIME_LIBS=static USE_RTTI=0 USE_EXCEPTIONS=1

If you want to make a debug version I would suggest you read the install.txt document which probably suggests adding the text DEBUG_FLAG=1 and DEBUG_INFO=1 to the compilation line. You might also need to add the text __WXDEBUG__ to the compiler options in wxDevCpp.

Hi NinjaNL,

unfortunately I'm getting syntax errors when trying to use the makefile (configure&&make works fine):
mingw32-make -f makefile.gcc BUILD=release MONOLITHIC=1 USE_OPENGL=1 USE_XRC=1 USE_ODBC=1 RUNTIME_LIBS=static USE
_RTTI=0 USE_EXCEPTIONS=1
if not exist gcc_msw mkdir gcc_msw
/usr/bin/sh: -c: line 2: syntax error: unexpected end of file
mingw32-make: [gcc_msw] Error 258 (ignored)
if not exist ..\..\lib\gcc_lib mkdir ..\..\lib\gcc_lib
/usr/bin/sh: -c: line 2: syntax error: unexpected end of file
mingw32-make: *** [..\..\lib\gcc_lib] Error 258
I'd be very grateful if you could create a debug devpak for me, if this isn't too much work!

Edit:

Nevermind, got rid of the syntax error (had MSYS in path). Thanks for your help!

Sorry, family drama here this evening, had no time to do anything. I'm glad to see that you have sorted your problem out.
