.a -> .lib

Post by haroldjpa » Mon Dec 11, 2006 7:46 pm

Hello
why wxdevcpp v10 and v9, make the static libraries as .lib and not as .a ?

Hola

Porque wxdevcpp v10 y v9 crean librerias estaticas como .lib y no como .a como inicialmente lo hacia ??

Gracias

mine get made with ".a" extensions. maybe you have wxDev-Cpp set up to use the VC 5 compiler...

Hola

You can over ride the .lib extension in Project|Project Options - Build Options. Tick the box Override Output Filename and alter the ending to .a. I have the same problem with static libraries.

The extension that the compiler uses will be determined by the type of your compiler (VC, MingW). If you use MingW .a is used, if you use VC .lib is used. Are you using the correct compiler type?
