Hi!
Have a look at wxAuiNotebook and wxAuiTabArt if you dislike the standard tab look.
OS: OpenSuSE, Ubuntu, Win XP Pro
wx: svn
Compiler: gcc 4.5.1, VC 2008, eVC 4

Have a look at WXDIR/samples/aui. Compile the sample, it contains a wxAuiNotebook.
OS: OpenSuSE, Ubuntu, Win XP Pro

Please review red highlight in picture. You can try Netbeans C++ and open 20+ files, then click to last tab. Dont click to left right arrow navigation, click to the last part of first tab.

I am using wxAUI libs extensively. Its good in terms of look and feel. If you want I can help you out.
