I wrote a wxWidgets Program and tested it for Windows as well as under Linux (386 Gentoo), the machine I have wxWidgets installed. Works as designed. Now I want to distribute the Linux version, as binary, since I can not release it as source code.
My question is now, what do I need to do in order to install it on different distributions that it works... What prerequisits ? What additional libraries ? I did google, but just could not fine any thing that helped me :-(

Regards Daniel

1) build it on a reasonably old distro - I use Slackware 8
2) link it to wxWidgets statically
3) if you use png or tiff or ... graphics libs, use the builtin, and consider that security advisories have been issued for these

You may find checkinstall helpful for making tgz, rpm and debs

If you want to release a binary without object files you have to link dynamically. Theres a post here where this has been discussed and there are lots of links that you can check out: ... light=sell
