Responding to "Force Quit" in Mac

Is there a Mac specific or otherwise function that responds to force Quit? Here is the specific use case am talking about.
In Mac when you start a program accidentally there is an option to force it to quit without even full loading it. All other app works fine except mine.
When it is fully loaded I can quit whether by force or normal. I will appreciate a pointer to docs or otherwise that will get me started.
