EnableTop() not working in ubuntu 14.04 unity

Do you have a typical platform dependent issue you're battling with ? Ask it here. Make sure you mention your platform, compiler, and wxWidgets version.

EnableTop() not working in ubuntu 14.04 unity

EnableTop() does nothing to disable the menu item from the menu bar in Ubuntu 14.04 with gtk build.

Does anyone faced similar issue ?

I don't use Linux myself, so i can't really help. But i know that Unity often causes problem with wxWidgets. Are you using the latest wxWidgets version? If you're using 3.0.2 or older, please try the latest version from GIT. Maybe the issue is fixed by now.
