OS X - wxTextCtrl background colour

Post by alus » Sun Sep 19, 2004 7:46 am

In OS X (wx2.5.2.8) it seems wxTextCtrl doesn't resopond to wxWindow::SetBackgroundColour()

Anyone have a recommendation on how to change the background colour of text? The TextCtrl sample and in wxPython StyledTextCtrl also seem to have this problem, but are able to highlight text. Maybe background colour could be implemented with highlighting? Does no native GUI ever do this? How do the web browsers do it?

It might be still a "bug" .. Try the following:

Take the minimal sample
Add your wxTextCtrl
Add the one line changing the background

If that doesn't work, report the bug to the SourceForge page. Also, I am no OSX expert, but is it possible to do that on MacOS ? Maybe if you dig into the OSX help you might find a reason why.
