Yeah. I was pretty thorough in my search to delete any and all folders related to VS.

Well, I'm out of advice then, aside from reinstalling Windows or trying VS 2010.

By the way, doesn't VS generate some more detailed info about this error somewhere, e.g. in a log file or system's event log? I have no idea if it does or where it does that though.
