How to with XCode 3.2?

The Wiki always says to start from a new Carbon project. The problem is, XCode 3.2 (Snow Leopard) no long offers Carbon projects as an option. I tried with Cocoa and always get a "Gcc 4.2 returned exit code 1" error message when I try to build.

Not exactly, what it says is :
Choose menu item File --> New Project --> Carbon C++ Application (or any Application template, which one doesn't matter very much as long as it's an app bundle one) then click Next
"Keyboard not detected. Press F1 to continue"
-- Windows
