Forum Downtime

Post by tierra »

For most of you that noticed, this has been a rough week for the forums. The server went down about 7 days ago now, and we've been working hard to bring them back all week. Unfortunately, the best we can do at the moment was to move a 2 month old backup to a new server as the old one is still (even now) missing in action. We would have liked to have waited a little longer for the chance to bring the forums back online as they were the day it went down, but just couldn't wait any longer.

I apologize to everyone that may have posted something in the last few days hoping for some help or attention, but your post was lost. I hope we can move on from this in a much better condition with improved performance.

Thanks even for this.

Hi!

Many thanks to tierra who kindly helped with getting us online
again!

I'm very sorry that there wasn't a more recent backup. We will
discuss and try to make sure that this won't happen again. In
addition we're currently checking how we can upgrade the forum.
So stay tuned: We're up to take this chance and have the forum
ready for another 7 years.

Best regards,
upCASE

I use wxWidgets for work, so having a support forum is pretty crucial for me.

That said, even if you had to create a new blank forum that would be fine to me. So the fact that we got some posts back is just icing on the cake... :)

Yep I am glad it is here as well regardless of software and hardware bugs that are bound to happen in the tech life.
