Ladies and gentlemen, we have been defaced

Post by Jorg »

Hi,

I guess it is a first for everything. I was postponing the updates on the phpbb, mainly because we have so much custom stuff here. I guess we cannot postpone it longer and have to start to think about upgrading soon.

Does anybody have an experience with updating to the latest version of phpBB, and can I do this gradually or does it require a lot of work?

While I don't use phpBB on my site, quite often it's as simple as dropping in the new PHP scripts. Just make sure to read the instructions as there could be SQL changes and the like. :)

Thanks, our problem is that we use customized scripts. We have gehsi and wxWidgets stuff which is now integrated in the forum, and a merge mod. I will have to look into this next weekend if I find the time.

When I upgrade website stuff... I first install EasyPHP... then, I do the upgrading on my own computer... And when I see that everything is working the way I want it, I upload it to the web... I think that is the easiest way to do these stuff...
