Replying to pm's

Post by twobits »

Hello, I just recently registered, and I now have a pm in reply to my first post. It seems I am not authorized to reply though. Naturally I would like to reply. How do I get authorized? I can see not letting me originate a pm conversation, but why not let me reply?

We disabled PM for newly registered users until they have at least a couple posts approved by a moderator in order to prevent PM spam.

This being your second post, you've automatically been removed from that group, so you should have PM ability now.

Um, should PMing new members be disabled too? I mean if they can't reply, not much sense in sending them a PM.

Not necessarily, but it doesn't matter anyway because phpBB doesn't make this distinction and can't prevent it.
