We have (finally) released wxWidgets application, TreeMaker 5.0.0, in versions for Mac, Linux, and Windows.

TreeMaker is a program for origami design. (That's "origami" as in "paper-folding," not "ultramobile computing.") Within TreeMaker, you draw a stick figure of your subject; TreeMaker computes the crease pattern and the folded form of a shape that has the same number, length, and arrangements of flaps as your starting figure.

You can read more about the program at:

(And you can see what kinds of origami figures can be designed with TreeMaker at

There are downloadable binaries for the three platforms; also full source code is available (under GPL), if anyone is interested in seeing some of the hoops the development team (3 of us, one for each platform) had to jump through to get the program to behave on all three platforms.

TreeMaker was developed first on wxMac and then ported to msw and gtk. Many thanks to the wxWidgets developers, and particularly to Stefan Csomor, for patient answers to many questions!
