So even though we've had this interface underwraps and some linux distributions already bundle it, but we have a wxwidgets interface for our emulator. Right now it targets wxwidgets 2.8.12 (working on getting things compilable under wxwidgets 3) and uses SDL for joypad support, openal and sdl for audio on linux windows and mac and for windows specifically using xaudio2 and dsound. Also a note is that we also make use of wxglcanvas and cairo and d3d.

Re: VisualBoyAdvance-M sports a wxwidgets interface
Just a quick update on things, we've for the most part upgraded to using wxwidgets 3.0.2, update pretty much everything and even made it to project of the month for june on sourceforge.net, Special thanks to the wxwidgets developers for making a pretty awesome cross platform toolkit.
