New iMac with Remote Access for wxWidgets Development

Post by tierra »

In an effort towards better tested and more compatible releases of the new wxOSX Carbon and Cocoa ports for wxWidgets 2.9/3.0, we have been fortunate enough to setup a new iMac running both 10.6 as well as 10.7 with full GUI remote access available not only for our Summer of Code students who would otherwise not have any access to test their code on Mac OS X, but also for developers working on the core library in the same situation.

This iMac has graciously been sponsored by the Google Summer of Code program along with all of the mentors who donated their payments back to wxWidgets. Additionally, we would like to thank Code Rebel who donated a license of their iRAPP Terminal Server making it possible for us to provide concurrent remote GUI access over RDP within our 10.6 installation that would have otherwise been impossible. We are very grateful to everyone that made this possible.

For now, we will only be accepting requests for access to this iMac to our Summer of Code students and developers with write access to the wxWidgets SVN repository. However, I will open this up to other developers working on projects directly related to wxWidgets as long as the system resources are still available to make this possible. This iMac will also be providing an additional build bot covering a configuration or two that we are currently missing.

Send your requests for access to me directly at <[email protected]>. System and configuration details along with connection information is available on wxTrac here.

Regards,
Bryan Petty
