If you are using the main C++ distribution of wxWidgets, Feel free to ask any question related to wxWidgets development here. This means questions regarding to C++ and wxWidgets, not compile problems.
Tickets and users were imported from SourceForge trackers.
We have there a lot of bugs that were reported a few years ago, and many of them are outdated, and we need your help with testing and fixing. Here is a list of tickets sorted by last modification time: http://tinyurl.com/6ybeua
If you've ever used wxWidgets SF tracker, your user account was imported into Trac. You only need to get a new password. Go to http://trac.wxwidgets.org/reset_password , type your username and
Since it's a big news, I've made your post an anouncement, and modified its title a little. If it's not Ok for you, feel free to edit it back
Personally I guess "Announcements and Discoveries" is more proper a place to announce this news, but considering the higher traffic of "C++ Development", I think it's better to leave it here. Hope more people can see it as so many bugs found in this forum ended up not reported to wx-devs.

Hmmr....I'm completely lost in wxTrac and don't know how to report bugs on it....And I couldn't find any guide on it either-----Maybe I didn't search hard enough
Can you give me some decription of how-to? Or give me a link? Thanks in advance.

You're required to register (and login) in order to submit a new issue.
On that note, Marcin, what do you think about not requiring registration to submit new tickets? Is this a large concern for spam? I've heard horror stories from the Exaile project getting spam in their Trac install. The Boost project doesn't require registration, and can even still track the user's name and email using their session: http://svn.boost.org/trac/boost/settings
If that's plausible, and you haven't discussed this already, you should run it past the wx-dev list.

I think it's not because of spam. Users were required to login on SF, so they can be contacted if anything is not clear, and the same is in Trac.
I don't know how tracking unregistered users works, but I suppose it's less reliable.
It is technically possible to give any rights to anonymous users. Robin configured Trac, so he set the permissions. I think it's good how it is now, so I haven't started any discussion.

I'd already registered before I asked this question, the embarassing part is that I'm still lost...I went through the wiki and guides, but I still can't understand how trac works, can't get a general idea. The wiki aimed straightly to the details, e.g. how to install trac, but I need to understand whether i need to install it before I can report bugs...Everything is so different from SF...And what's a ticket?
BTW, does wxTrac include patch tracking?

You don't need to install anything. If you are logged in, just click "New Ticket" (the button between "View Tickets" and "Search".)
I have used wxWidgets troubletickets some one-two years ago. Now I wanted to post another one, ooops, I am not able to log into my account. Well, YES, I tried the reset password trick with username@sourceforge, but it did not work for me either. I tried username and my "normal" e-mail as well, still "does not match". I tried to re-create my account, but it says username already exists.
While it is generally possible that another user choose same username, I am convinced that the issue is about some mess with my original account. Please, can some admin help? Username in question is "pmendl" and I am opened for any further questions at pavel<underscore>mendl<a.t>centrum.cz.
Thanks for any help.
Hi,
Do you mean you can't login wxTrac or SF tracker? The latter is---I guess---closed, and
for the former, it's better to ask it in the following thread so that marcin can help you:

I just tried to reset your password, using
username: pmendl
email: [email protected]

If you don't get this password, make sure that you alias at SourceForge points to a valid address.
Yes, it worked. Thank you for all your effort. I have my account under full control again.
We will hardly get know, why did it work for you and not for me, but finally it is over at least.
Contrary to the trac account, forum account has no self-delete feature, so I am not able to delete this temporary account myself. Please do so as administrator as the last step of solving this issue. Thank you.
Hi,
is the trac service still active?
I can't manage to complete the registration.
I don't receive the notification mails containing the verification token although the mail address is correct.
Thanks
