managing graphic and media resources

I am getting back into wxWidgets after a long time and quite a newbie with it. The question I have is how to manage my media (AVI files) and graphics resoources (PNG files) in my executable. I am doing all development on linux. So basically, I have a video that I show at the beginning of my app. I w...

wxDialog not minimizing to taskbar

Hello,

I have a wxDialog object that has a wxFrame as its parent. The problem is that the dialog object only minimizes to the main application window and not the taskbar. I would like the dialog window to minimize to the taskbar. Is there any way of achieving that?

Thanks,

wxFrame created in a DLL behaves weird

Hello everyone, I have a DLL which is loaded dynamically by my app and a method in the DLL creates a simple wxFrame as follows: wxFrame * frame = new wxFrame(wxTheApp->GetTopWindow(), -1, _T("My Frame")); frame->Show(true); Now everything is fine but it seems to block my parent application from show...

wxTextValidator: How to limit numeric value

Hello everyone, I am able to use the wxTextValidator to restrict the input to numerics only as follows: wxTextValidator m_validator(wxFilterNumeric|wxFilter_EXCLUDE_CHAR_LIST); Now, what I want to do is make sure that the user can only enter numbers between 1 and 512. How do I go about doing that? C...

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the problem still persists.

Calling wxTheApp->Yield() between calls actually even stopped the dialog from showing up till I minimized the first window.

Cheers,
Luca

Strange problem with wxDialog::ShowModal()

Hello, I have a problem where the wxDialog::ShowModal function does not return unless a frame that was created before is closed or minimized. It seems that the event loop created internally by the dialog never returns till the wxFrame object has been minimized or destroyed. I have the code as follow...

Problems with showing two wxFrame objects

Hello, I have a problem where I cannot show two wxFrame objects together. The second one only shows after the first one is minimized or closed. So, if I have code as follows... wxFrame * frame1 = new wxFrame(NULL, ....) // constructor frame1->Center(); frame1->Show(); MyWorkerThread * thread = new M...

get the wxMenuBar to steal focus

Hello everyone, I have a problem where the global keyboard accelerators interfere with a text box input process. So, I have a listener which removes some accelerators when the text box has focus and adds them again when the text box control loses focus. As you can imagine, it is the not the most ele...
