Maybe it's your host variable which causes this problem. Try passing the address yourself, like for localhost:

Code: Select all

addr.Hostname("127.0.0.1");
It's not really a wxString, but this works in my program.

I just discovered the debugguer mode of dev-cpp, and it tells me that I have a segmentation fault at this line, just like I thought: th = new ThreadServer(sock); I don't understand why I have this error, here is the declaration of the threadserver object in the header file: ThreadServer *th; I also ...

wxDev-C++ is slow when compiling, I agree...But notice that the more files you have in your project, the more time it will take to compile. If you want a suggestion to make it be faster, try overclocking your processor or just buy a more powerful one! :lol:

Have you tried with other flags that wxEVT_MOTION? If your mouse has 3 buttons, you can try with the EVT_MOUSEWHEEL flag, then when your program runs, just play with the mousewheel and see what happens. Or maybe should you set your events in an event table? Here is an example: BEGIN_EVENT_TABLE(newP...

[Resolved] Can't create an instance of a class

Hi...I'm sorry to do so many posts, but sometimes, programming makes me...Never mind. When I intend to create an instance of the class ThreadServer, I got an error of execution. After debugging, it comes that the constructor code is executed with no error, but the line after the object creation is n...

Handle an event with a wxMenuItem

Hi, that's me again :oops: . In my program, I make a menu with some basics items, then I add items after reading a file. By this way, I can set events for the basic items (in the table event) but not for the items added after. I thought about the setEventHandler method, but it doesn't exist in wxMen...
