Thanks for this useful class :) I made some minor changes to it so that it can be used with a unicode version of wxWidgets. Here it is for those who may need it: ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// // Name: wxMD5.h // Purpose: wxMD5 Class // Author: Casey O'Donnell...

Ok I've restarted the project from scratch, re-entered all the linking options, and now it's working. No idea why or what's different from the previous project, but at least it's working :D

Hi, I'm still a bit confused about wx-config. I only found this article about it but it doesn't say much. What do you mean by "use it directly"? In particular, how do I know which arguments I should use for my project? Another thing is that wx-config seems to be used both for linking and compiling. ...

Linking errors on Ubuntu

Hello, I'm new to Linux and I'm trying to build one of my wxWidgets Win32 application. I managed to do it in release mode, however it's not working in debug mode. I'm getting several errors related to wxOnAssert: /_Unicode Debug Win32/FolderItem.o||In function `wxStringBase::wxStringBase(wxStringBas...

Thanks Jim, I've found what was wrong. As it turns out it was an issue with my control which wasn't dispatching the event at all in certain cases. I've fixed that and I'm now getting the event for all the buttons.

Thanks,

Laurent

Event handlers for dynamically generated buttons

Hello, I'm trying to process the events of buttons generated dynamically. I have a loop which creates them and at the end of it, I call Connect() to setup the event handler. My problem is that it only seems to work for the first button. For that one, I receive all the events correctly, however I don...

Thanks but this would only make the window stay on top. However, in my app, the windows are not always on top. I only need them to all have the same z-order.

In Win32, I could use SetWindowPos() but is there an equivalent in wxWidgets?

Setting the depth of a window

Hello, I'm looking for a way to explicitely set the depth of a window. I have two frames, say frame1 and frame2, and I'd like frame2 to always stay at the same depth of frame1 (i.e. with no other windows in between). Is it possible to do that? If so, how? Thanks, Laurent edit: by "depth" I mean the ...

Getting version info of an executable

Hello, Is there any function in wxWidgets to get the version info of a file? I mean the information that appears on Windows when right-clicking a .exe then selecting Properties > Version. In particular, I need to get the FileDescription field. Is there any way to do that with wxWidgets? Thank you, L...

Conditional compilation

I have some Windows only code in my application that I'd like to wrap into a #ifdef block, however I'm not sure which variable I should use. I can see wxWIN32S, _WINDOWS_ and _WIN32_ - which one is it?

Thanks Tan, but the wxFileType::GetIcon() only returns the icon for a file type (eg ".doc", ".pdf", etc.).

However I need to get the icon of an executable - is there a function to do this?

Thank you,

Getting icon of an application or document

Hello,

Is there a way to get the icon of an executable, file or folder using wxWidgets? (i.e. the icon that we see in Explorer on Windows)

It looks like wxIcon.LoadFile() can only load an image? or am I missing something?

Any help would be appreciated :)

If somebody's interested, here is a custom StretchBlit() that I put together based on the previous post: void MyStretchBlit(wxDC* destDC, wxDC* sourceDC, wxCoord destX, wxCoord destY, wxCoord destWidth, wxCoord destHeight, wxCoord srcX, wxCoord srcY, wxCoord srcWidth, wxCoord srcHeight) { double sav...
