Migrating a String Table Resource to linux

I have a HUGE string table on .res file on my app and since i am making it portable i'd like to know what is the easiest way to port it to linux. Any thing similar, it's over 5000 symbols I do not want to rewrite it.

I saw that there is xrc, is there any fast way to port from .rc to .xrc?

thanks

How did you create the precompiled header? Did you just use automatic? Have you already compiled your project? It's better to set your .cpp files to use the precompiled header you want "example.h" and set "example.cpp" to create. you do this on the project settings. And by your project folder I mean...

MonoDevelop

Hi,

I am trying to compile a wxWidgets project with MonoDevelop. It seems to be a great IDE. But since I am new to linux I am having some troble configuring the settings of the project.

Has anyone tried it? Any thoughts about it. It uses the g++ as its compiler.

Thanks

First, did you recompile wxwidgets after setting wxODBC to 1?
Second, you shouldnt use wxDB, you should use either wxDatabaseLayer that you can download on the wxCode site or any other library of your preference. Because wxDB is no longer supported and will be deprecated in future releases.

AFAIK the compile time will only make a difference if you have a project with many files that use the precompiled header.

I use that precompiled header also and you can find it in your intermediate files folder. It is by default in the DEBUG or RELEASE folder under the project folder.

There is the class wxDB, but it is not supported anymore and will be deprecated in the rext releases.

However there is a library called DatabaseLayer that you can find in the wxCode site. It is portable and has many functionalities similar to mfc. I use it and got no complaints.

Usually you shouldn't edit setup.h manually, but use configure instead
I really didnt know that and probably it would have made my life easier. how do I use configure on windows?

thanks

Actually I only used it as a pointer to a function. Never to a member of a class. But you could try passing (class::function) as a parameter and see if it works. Or you could create a function that calls that class member and pass that function to you thread.

Hope I helped
