So do it like this, go to Build->configuration manager select one of the configurations you want, i built dll debug and debug, both went well. Than Project->Project dependencies, and you select the project dependencies so that they are built in the correct order. Just make each project dependent on ...

Is it just my impression or when you tried the dll debug build it tried to build a unicode version of the dll wxmsw28ud_core.exp. The u stands for unicode and i don't think that was suposed to happen. Do different builds and see if it is always trying to build unicode. Don't know if this will give a...

Try the 2.8.9 version since it is the latest stable verion. I use it and it worked perfectly.

edit: just checked out wxwidgets site and saw that there is a 2.8.10 fresh from the oven.

Go to the Project menu -> "ProjectName" Properties
Than on the pop up window Configuration Properties->C/C++->Code Generation->Runtime Libraries

Check if you have compiled both wx and your application with MT or any other, the important is that both use the same runtime library.

I am not sure if this is the case but there seems to be a bug on version 2.8.9 that has been fixed on 2.8.10(I read this in some blog but don't know where exactly), that if you build wx as a dll, and your application loads a dll built with wx it hangs. I solved this by building wx statically.

Program only works when debugging

I have no idea if this is a wxIssue, but since this forum is where I usually post my doubts here it goes. I use vc++ 2005 on windows xp. When I run the app through the debug on the ide it works. But when I run the application (that has been compiled on debug mode) it crashes without any messages. It...

Found it!!! The problem was that at some point dont know when, it was created a ini on my local documents and settings, and when I initialized the ini variable it read first the global file then a bogus ini file with the application name that corrupted some of the data. But I found one "problem" wit...

When doing this it reads conrrectly my dllname entry, however in some moment after doing this it loses the value. Going to investigate some more to discover when and why it d...

I took a while to post the code here because I was doing some more tests. Didn't reach any conclusion, so here it goes: wxString strAux; wxFileConfig ini("","","",strGBIniName); ini.Read( wxString(chrSection)+wxString("/Caption"),&strAux,""); if( strAux!=wxEmptyString ) strGBConfig[uchCanal] += strA...

As I said it was a spur of the moment name, it could still be a bug but I am having trouble reproducing it to post here. I have tried many things, and cant find a pattern. First I thought that the problem was the "name" word on the path, because "dllnames" and "dllnam" it could find, the same thing ...
