I think it is because when you closed the top window you close any other application it launched, so your restarted doesnt crash, it is closed.

Try making some tests to confirm it.

First of all did you check if the library exist? It is the base of all the wxlibraries. So you must link it if you are using widgets, even if you're not using any gui.

if it doesnt exist, recompile wxwidgets and check if it was created and if not what was the error.

wxMutex wait TimeOut

Hello, I am studying the wxMutex and wxCondition and didn't understand one thing. I need to wait for a mutex to be released (or codition to be signaled) for 1000msec, if it is not released I continue wihout it. For a codition you assign one mutex to it. Befores you can set a condition to waitTimeOut...

On 98 you need to find out what are the folders that windows searches for dll's and paste it on one of those folders. And on XP i can't really help you cause I don't have this kind of trouble but you should check on the project properties perhaps you can find something there.

Probably not, since 3.0 there is no more ODBC support on wxWidgets and even on previous version the class existed but wasn't maintained by anyone anymore. So you need to find another library for database support, i would advice DatabaseLayer, you can find it on the wxCode site.

I am using OpenSuse 11.1. I thought that the problem could be that the the make file doesn't consider the Path variable, if so I'd like to know if there is any way around this.

edit: One more information, I am already trying databaselayer 1.8

thanks

Actually if it is only a function library there is no need for anything, no wxInitialize no wxApp no anything, just the funtions you will use. I thik it's because the application has already initialized wxWidgets, so the library doesn't have to do anything. If you need to have objects initialized on...

Databaselayer can't find wx-config

I tried the postgresql build and got this error make -f GNUmakefile postgresql /bin/sh: wx-config: command not found And this line got repeated hundredsof times. I have a build of wxWidgets and have set the PATH variable to point to the right wx-config, though I didn't do a make install for my wxbui...

You need to give us more info, like what error it thows? did it compile on xp without any problems? Cant you make a debug build so you can see where it crashes? Or at least have your program post messages to the user so you can know exactly where on the code the program crashed.

I found someone who is trying to do the same thing as I am. Are you building a library only to call it's functions or does it store any variables, like global variables? If it is only a library for you to call functions from it, there is no need for a wxApp, wxinitialize or anything like that if the...

timezone difficulty

i am having what I think is a simple problem. I just can't seem to find a way to get the local time zone. I need the difference between the local timezone and the UTC, but I didn't find a function on wxdatetime that could do something similar. To explain exactly what I am doing, is I receive a long ...
