Thanks for the answers! Do you know if the difference between 1.25GHz and 1.42GHz versions is really noticeable in compiling wx code?

And 512MB are enough or the Mac is swapping from the disk all the time during compilation?

Thanks in advance,
Sandro

wxMac: witch Mac Mini?

Hello, I would like to buy a new Mac Mini for porting my wx apps.

I would like to know how much disk space is left after the installation of OS X Tiger, XCode and wxMac, just to decide what kind of model to buy: the one with 40GB harddisk or the one with 80GB.

Thanks,
Sandro

Re: OnExit vs destructor

I noticed that it is recommended delete-ing dynamic objects of an application in its OnExit() method. Of course as an C++ programmer I would like to use the destructor where ever possible. I would even like to ignore OnExit() completely and not to overload it at all. IMHO, the wxWidgets manual sugg...

Re: wxItem_Normal

I created a new menu item like this. wxMenuItem *Paste = new wxMenuItem( menuEdit, IDM_Paste, "Paste", "", wxItem_Normal, NULL); But it appears at the menu bar as like I created it using wxItem_Check instead of wxItem_Normal. Waht have I done wrong? This is strange... (I assume wxITEM_NORMAL, not w...

Code: Select all

PointArray p = pointlist.Item(0);
wxPoint point = p.Item(0);
But that crashes as soon as it gets to p.Item(0). Can anyone help?
Have you inserted some items before the .Item(0) call?

Re: std::getline with wxString?

I have a console test that is trying to use std::getline with wxString. It's probably something really basic, but I still can't figure out what I need to do after looking at the docs for a while. You can't mix Std C++ library string with wxString. This is one of the million solutions: char buf[1024...

Convert floating point number to string with some formatting

Convert a floating point value to a string, specifying the number of decimals, the decimal separator and the thousands separator. // d: value to convert // decimals: number of decimals to output (<= 9) // usecomma: use the comma as decimal separator if true, otherwise the dot // thousands_spacer: se...

Add thousands separators to numbers

A quick and dirty function for adding thousands separators to integers. The separator is: the comma "," for locales where the dot is used as decimal separator (e.g. US) the dot "." for locales where the comma is used as decimal separator (e.g. IT, FR) Example of application: int mynumber = 12345678;...

Perhaps you should write something like (not tested): wxBitmap bmp(wxBITMAP(bmp_opnproj)); wxMask *mask = new wxMask(bmp, wxColour(your_transparent_colour)); bmp->SetMask(mask); wxMenuItem* menuItem = new wxMenuItem(FileMenu, wxID_OPEN, _("Open...\tCtrl+O"), _T(""), wxITEM_NORMAL); menuItem->SetBitm...

Re: How to create patches for executables?

Hello, my question refers a little bit to the 'What tools do you use'-topic: How do you deploy updates of your software? When I e.g. change just a spelling error I don't want to distribute the large executable. Can you recommend a cheap or free tool (perhaps with some remarks of your experiences) t...

Re: Got the book

The WxWidgets book just arrived (Louisiana - USA - near New Orleans)! I have ordered it through Amazon.com on July, but the order is still on hold... :cry: The Amazon description of the book says: Availability: Usually ships within 24 hours. Ships from and sold by Amazon.com. Looks great. I'm sure ...
