I don't see nothing wrong in your code. Maybe the problem is created by some wrong usage of sizers in the parent widget?

I have no problem with sharing it so if there will be an interest I can public it in the Code Dump section or anywhere else It has a very good visual appearence, I'm sure that many people would be interested! P.S. It would be perfect IMHO if it works as a drop-in replacement of wxNotebook. Edit: It...

Well, I have created this tab control for myself. It has similar interface as wxNotebook and draws these tabs on the wxPaintDC in the paint event. Also sends events if user clicks on tab or its close button. So nothing special here :D I like them also! Is the control source available under a wxWidg...

Re: which database to a program ?

Hi I would like to do a programme which contains a database but I don't wan't the user to need to install a supplementary program. In fact, the database must be integrated in the program. I think wxsqlite is the good system, am I right ? thx SQLite is simply excellent for embedding: * small * fast ...

This is strange.

Are you sure the

Code: Select all

IMPLEMENT_DYNAMIC_APP(BasicFrame, wxFrame)
line resides in the implementation (.cpp) file and not in a header file?

Edit: of course I meant IMPLEMENT_DYNAMIC_CLASS

floating point spin control

Hello, I'm looking for a working floating point spin control.

I know that an implementation exists at:

ftp://biolpc22.york.ac.uk/pub/contrib/spinctrls

but I would like to know if a newer, wx-2.6.x compatible version exists, before I start to reinvent the wheel.

This is a rough solution: Suppose you have 15 items in your listbox. First of all, set the range of the spinbox with SetRange(0,14). Catch the "item changed" event of the listbox, and in the event code call spinbox->SetValue(listbox->GetSelection()); Catch the "value changed" event of the spinbox, a...

Why would you like to do it? Perhaps you should instead change the spin button range with the wxSpinButton::SetRange() method.

Re: wxHTMLHelpController and external links ?

It seems the wxHTMLHelpController cannot open links to standard URL (http://, ...), even when specifying a target window. eg <a href="www.wxforum.org" target="_blank">link</a> Is there something special to do ? If you would like to launch the default browser on external links, I have published some...

Hi! The enums can still reside in the header file. Use the enum inside your class. Good suggestion upCASE. Including the enums into the class definition also keeps the C++ namespace clean. e.g.: class MyFrame: public wxFrame { // ... public: // IDs of children objects enum { ID_BUTTON1, ID_MENU_ITE...

Code: Select all

wxSpinCtrl *ctrl;
// ...
ctrl->SetRange(1,999);
If the user enters a value greater than 999, the value will be clamped to 999 (and GetValue() will return 999).

If you want to force the maximum string size to 3, I think you have to edit the control code.

Re: event tables

mikecoon wrote:Is there a special reason to place your event table int he .cpp file?
mikecoon
Because you should think the event table as a variable. Variables are never declared in headers files, because doing so will cause a linker error (multiple definitions).

Re: wxGlCanvas inner workings

Is there a doc out there that explains how display lists are implimented in wxGLCanvas? :? wxGLCanvas() does nothing magic. No standard OpenGL command is overloaded, so the same OpenGL rules apply. Can we re-generate a list and use the same index? This is OpenGL specific, not wx specific. http://ww...

Thanks for the answers! Do you know if the difference between 1.25GHz and 1.42GHz versions is really noticeable in compiling wx code? Ok, I have found the answers myself to my FAQ :) http://www.byodkm.net/forums/archive/index.php/t-960.html http://macspeedzone.com/html/hardware/machine/comparison/a...
