Hi, I plan to release a VST/AU plug-in late december/early january. This is one month after the PC release, because if I can say something of building wxWidgets plugins for Mac, the GUI is somewhat a problem. The major issue is that wxMAC does not provide a simple way to associate a native Mac windo...

A lot of apps require 10.4 these days, and with 10.5 coming out in Q1, my opinion is that the "support the previous and the current version of OS X" philosophy can be bent a little (especially if you need OS X 10.4 only technologies) Hmm, I am planning to release in Q1 anyway. I am leaning towards ...

Mac OSX - what is your minimum requirement?

Hi, I am currently compiling my apps for 10.3.9 as a minimum requirement for Mac OSX, PPC. To do this, I need to use gcc 3.3, and not 4.0 which is my secret desire. Question is... How meaningful is it to assume that people are still using 10.3.9? I am sure a LOT still do... but HOW many? Anyone have...

Hi, Double deleting does not really lead to crashes though? It does if you don't null the pointer! I don't think so, unless you try to use the dangling pointer, but trying to delete a memory block twice does not generate crashes. The CRT usually stores references to memory blocks in linked lists, a...

I suspect you too have an "invalid pointer by idle time" issue too. Do you run a 'Save' dialog of some sort? This would generate idle events. Nope, using wxFile, with a predefined filename, I create a file and dump a few kB of data into it. On Closing the file, the file handle "seem" to be corrupt....

The most common cause of an intermittent crash on exit that I have experienced is misuse of multithreaded code - as in, not stopping all running threads before deleting any objects that those threads might be referring to. Generally, if you're getting crashes on Windows DLLs with wxWidgets you've m...

Intermittent crashing in myApp::OnExit()

Hi, In about 1/20th run I have a crash in the wxApp::OnExit member. As of yet it has only happened in Release builds, but because Visual 2005 is pretty smart even in release builds I can see what is going on: In ::OnExit() I try to save some settings for usage for the next time, i.e I store data to ...

But then again, you could make the call and say you have 32 bits anyway. Don't think it will harm anything.

but , I tried it , and it isnot working the pixeldata is not initiate correctly in spite of the wxbitmap object is ok. can you think of any problem with the initialization ? the solution was : wxNativePixelDat pixeldata(bmp) unsigned char *data = (unsigned char*)pixeldata.GetPixels().m_ptr I recomm...

The best way to work with raw bitmap data on most platforms is with the technique found in wx/rawbmp.h I can't believe nobody seem to be aware of this, even though it is undocumented. It is the fastest, most portable and most competent way to mess with raw data. I use it as an extension to wxBitmap....
