Off the top of my head you can, ... 2.) use a later version of wxWidgets, because the bug may have been fixed Hi, thanks for the suggestions. I am leaning towards a combination of 1 & 2. I can't switch to 2.8.0 because it breaks my apps in thousand pieces :-( I hope I can use parts from 2.8.0 and b...

wxGetKeyState is crashing (wxMac)

Hi, I don't expect to find an answer to this problem, but thought it best to ask anyway, in case someone has actually stumbled upon it before. On Mac I do several wxGetKeyState for several reasons. This works perfectly in most cases, but one beta tester is reporting that his program is crashing at t...

Well this is not quite related to wxWidgets  Well XCode and Visual C++ are IDEs... so you need to look for an IDE - there are many to choose from. Code::Blocks, Anjuta, KDevelop, many others You can also just use a plain text editor + build system (makefile, scons, etc.) Depending on your nee...

Best GUI for developing under Linux

Hi everybody, I am considering porting a few apps from Windows & Mac to Linux. Which would the best graphical development environment be to hook up GCC to? Emacs? How do people actually develop under Linux? I am used with XCode and Visual C++... Is there something as "visual" under Linux? Thanks for ...

Stefan Csomor (?) - Mac critical sections/mutexes

Hi, I am designing a very high performance DSP app for Mac which need to process small chunks of data in real time, about every 2-4 ms. The program does not like being interrupted. For each slice of data processing, I use wxCriticalSection to protect certain data. Browsing through the src\mac\carbon...

Initializing a Mac plug-in bundle

Hi,
What is the best way to initialize wxWidgets in a dynamically loaded plug-in bundle?

I.e, I have implemented an AU / VST plug-in using wxWidgets. Where do I initialize wxWidgets, and using which function call?

Thanks!

Re: How about awxLM licensing component?

awxLM licensing component is very useful. When it will be released to public? The first Windows product using awxLM was released in mid December 2006. A Mac product will be released in January. It has been working very well. If the component is released publicly I wish to gain some more experience ...

Very useful for some commercial software.Any news for it? The scheme was designed for an app which is going public mid-December 2006. I think it is prudent to let this program "evaluate" the usefulness of awxLM before deciding going public with it or not. If it is released commercially, I expect th...

wxFlexBoxSizer does not exist, I think he meant wxFlexGridSizer. But still don't understand why all panels grow to...

Perhaps if I knew what it was, but I can't find it in the docs. So do you mean there is a bug in wxBoxSizer that wxFlexBoxSizer can fix?

Sizer bug... or programmer bug...?

Hi, I am filling a wxScrolledWindow with a lot of sub-panels using this hiearchy: wxScrolledWindow ->wxBoxSizer(vertical) -> wxPanel There is about 10 sub panels, totally occupying a virtual height 2-3 times that of the wxScrolledWindow. Each sub panel is of different height, but my problem is that ...

Back to the OP, one way to look at it like this: How much is your app going to cost? If it is close to the cost of the OS on Mac the users will likely have gotten 10.4 first instead of your app - so in that case you might target 10.4+. If it is not that price though, maybe consider broadening your ...
