Maybe I didn't understand everything, but I don't think you are talking about XML... There is no formatting tags/attributes in XML. In XHTML yes, but I don't see any other file format you could be talking about. Concerning the HTML support in wxWidgets, it is very basic. It does not support CSS, and...

IIRC, the listctrl sample shows you how to fill the control with the "virtual" mode.

You need to implement a function that's been called to fill a particular interval of data.

Firstly, you have to compile wxWidgets itself, then wxMathPlot... Download wxWidgets, expand it on your computer, and read the .txt files in the root directory. This will indicate you how to properly setup wxWidgets and the needed steps to build the libraries. Once you're there, you can build the sa...

Re: Basic cross-platform development questions

I am a new member and am looking for some general background in cross-platform development. Hopefully this is the proper forum. I have built a multi-monitor application that will shipping to retail outlets soon. It was developed in MS Visual C++ in the Visual Studio 6.0 IDE. For any interested part...

I don't remember why the generic implementation of wxToolbar does not support wxComboBox... maybe it was tested only with wxButtons ??

Anyway, I don't think you are using this configuration, but native implementations on each platform, so you don't have to worry.

Maybe you could post the code for "MyApp" so that we could see what can be wrong, or just test it.

I guess you just need to set a fixed size for some of your controls instead of leaving the default size applied...
The sizers will make all the layout grow to fit your controls, and it's OK.

Or maybe I didn't understand your question?

What message?

You just need to compile the "toolbar" sample on Linux and test it to see that it works.

 First, look at T-Rex's blog and the internat sample. Then, download/install the gettext package (from GNU.org for example, or the gnuwin32 project on SourceForge if you wish to generate the .po files on your Windows environment). Now, what I did in my app: I have a batch that g...

First, look at the "internat" wxWidget sample installed on your computer(s). It will show you how to use .po files for localized strings. The aim is to have a special macro "_" instead of "wxT" for all strings that you know you will want to translate. xgettext is a GNU program (you should be able to...

AFAIK, there is no string table on Mac.

The "only" cross-platform solution is to use xgettext and extract translatable strings from your code source (those marked with the _("") macro instead of wxT(""))
