EVT_CHOICE : how to cancel the event ?

I don't find how to cancel the selection event on a wxChoice. I have tried event.Skip (true/false) and event.StopPropagation, and nothing cancels the event. What am I doing wrong ? Moreover, the documentation does not seem fully up to date : in wxEvent::Skip, the argument default value is true in th...

How can I specify some buttons are larger than other ? (all would have the same height). I would like to use a button with a same down arrow which opens some kind of menu (like in the "Previous"/"Next" pages in IE, or the Windows Explorer "Display" options). I didn't find a native way to do this. Is...

I also need something like this (for displaying a text menu-like widget).

The only "hack" I found was to display an icon, and handling the click event on it to display my menu manually.

Standard Win32 applications (even compiled for winxp-w2k) can run on Longhorn. I have tested this last year, but it was an application not using wxWidgets. I assume it works well for wxWidgets applications. some graphical elements may not be displayed properly, as this is the main difference with pr...

wxChoice/wxComboBox and onClick or onEnter?

Is there an event on the wxChoice control when I click on it or enter in the control, so I can fill it with data ?

(same question for wxComboBox, when I click the drop down button)

The easiest way to call FindWindow is the following:
::FindWindow(XRCID(id), class_name)

You should also have a look at XRCCTRL.

wxTreeCtrl and right click events

I have a tree control (wxTreeCtrl) in my app. I am trying to catch the right click events. I have understood how the "context" menu and the "right click" work. EVT_CONTEXT_MENU(MyFrame::OnContextMenu) EVT_TREE_ITEM_RIGHT_CLICK(-1, MyFrame::OnItemRightClick) both functions create and display the popu...

Your negative button has an ID as a resource. You have to write a function (you can call it OnNegButtonPressed) which is called automatically when the button is pressed. In your main frame event table, write: EVT_BUTTON(your_button_id, MyFrame::OnNegButtonPressed) declare this function in your frame...

I understand how I could use EVT_MENU_RANGE to get an event when the user clicks on one of the items in the sub menu, but this is not my problem. My menu items are static, their number and behaviour do not change, I only change their labels (to use the label of the currently selected item, if meanin...

EVT_MENU_OPEN with null menu for sub-menu ??

Hello, I am trying to update menu items displayed texts when menus are opened. It works well when the menu is a direct child of the menu bar (I search a particular item in 'evt.GetMenu()' and recognize the menu this way)... however for sub-menus evt.GetMenu() gives a null pointer and no ID, hence I ...
