wxSkinSimpleFrame derived, key events problem

Hi All, i know the author of wxSkin is very active in the forum and will probably read this post. So congratulation for this really nice job, even if alpha, it is working really fine in my application ! Hi Scorcher24, wxExecute finally end callinf ReadAll, that issue a wxCHECK_MSG( is, false, _T("NULL stream in wxExecute()?") ) on error. Is it the message you receive ? It yes, i don't thing you can prevent it, and this mean that you should use some function as in the std C execv.. family functions....

hello am85,

XP logon is something OS related, so no support is included in the wxWidgets library.
I suggest you look for the windows API's needed to perform a logon tool, mostly searching on msdn network.
Then, you can use the language you prefer to call them.

hi paco,

in the refresh cycle, you can try to create dinamically a bitmap with the constructor

wxBitmap(const char bits[], int width, int height
int depth = 1)

depth 8, and then use wxDC::DrawBitmap.
I don't know the performance for your fps anyway, need to be tested

right, i think is time to explain your application, so we can suggest some approach. void Yield(void) Give the rest of the thread time slice to the system allowing the other threads to run. See also Sleep(). Yield release the cpu for other tasks. If you run "ps -ax", you will see many and many of th...

Hi MattPhillips, sorry, i was to fast on the reply and confused the wxMutex as it was in the base class. Yes i confirm the catalin reply. You don't know how the OS give resources/time to the threads, it can give 10 instr. cycles to one thread and then switch to the other for 2, and for sure, you can...

Hi MattPhillips, i try to help you. 1) you are using 2 different mutexes, that's why the thread don't stop on it. Create a single mutex, and pass his pointer to both the thread. 2)for pauses > 1 msec, you can use wxThread::Sleep it is portable, and you can avoid usleep. I am suuming you are in Linux...

hi anna,

just look at the styles flags in the constructor of wxDialog to make the dialog appear as you want.

Look also wxMessageDialog, wxMessageBox macro, wxTextEntryDialog, etc etc.

hello anna,

It's ShowModal, as you correctly said.

Try

Code: Select all

wxDialog *dlg = new wxDialog(0, -1, "test");
dlg->ShowModal();
It must work. As a result, you will see that the window below is no more clickable/selectable, until you don't close (X) the modal dialog.
