The wxWidgets distribution comes shipped with a comprehensive set of samples (including the "minimal" example which is pretty much simplest program there could be).

There is also the wxWiki which has a lot useful information.

Re: wxTextCtrl Background Image and/or Semi-Transparent cont

you have to set the background mode for the DC's returned in the event data to wxTRANSPARENT. You'll have to handle the Paint and Erase event also... set background modes for those repsective DC's passed in the event data to wxTRANSPARENT, being sure to call the wxFrame::OnErase and wxFrame::OnPain...

Defined in the stdafx.h: #define ID_HOTKEY 0 I really don't think thats the problem, since I had an older project which defined it the same way and it worked. I have tried other values for ID_HOTKEY but they did not help. The weird part is still the fact that RegisterHotKey() returns true, which sho...

Problems with wxWindow::RegisterHotkey()

I have a rather strange problem with the mentioned functions. When I try if ( RegisterHotkey ( ID_HOTKEY, 30, wxMOD_CONTROL ) ) { --- } Now, this returns true like it should but if I press the hotkey combination (CTRL+0) the event handler is never called. I am using VC 7.1 with wxWindgets 2.5.3. Has...
