DatabaseLayer has a bug in this part.
In the attachment "diff" for fix this problem. Tested only in UNICODE against MS SqlServer. I think should fork for MS access too.

Be careful with ODBC inplementation in DatabaseLayer.

Be careful. ODBC implementation now very simply and has many dangerous places. The first one is related to use strings for extraction of sql results. This solution can drive to unpredictable result, if odbc driver know and handle locale settings. For example MSSQLServer ODBC driver in default config...

I fixed this problem. Solution properly works for MSSQLServer ODBC driver. But may not works if you will use non unicode driver in unicode application.
Looking on this problem I did not post changes as a patch.
If any body will need this solution, let me know I will sent path to anybody.

Look on wxPlotMarker class and AddMarker method of wxPlotCtrl.
I think this should help to draw and markers, may be applicable for draging .
