Yes, I know. The problem is, when I'm doing this from a thread, the Event is executed in the context of the thread (I logged the Thread-IDs). I wan't the mainthread to gather the data, to make sure, I'm not trying to get data from an item that the user is just deleting. And since wx is so picky with...

Is it possible to SEND an event?

I have a thread, wich needs to get data from a window every second. In WinAPI I would use SendMessage(), wich stops the execution of the thread until the window responds to the message. But in wx I only find wxPostEvent(), wich is asynchron. Is there a way in wx to get an event sent to a window from...

Yes. It is thrown from std::basic_string<>::_Grow(). I'm compiling wx with wxUSE_STL and wxUSE_STDSTRING. It seems the wxString constructor does something funny... This ist the callstack: WEKKD.exe!_CxxThrowException(void * pExceptionObject=0x0012c38c, const _s__ThrowInfo * pThrowInfo=0x00e0b9e8) + ...

wxPrintDialog throws an exception

Hi, I'm trying to get a wxPrinterDC via wxPrintDialog. What is the right way to doing this. This is what I have tried (compressed to the smallest that is necasary to get the error). try { wxPrintDialog dlg(this); if (dlg.ShowModal() != wxID_OK) return; } catch (std::exception& e) { wxLogError(e.what...

if you're using VC++ you can supress this error. To do so, you need to convert the message in an normal C++ exception. Like so: #include <windows.h> #include <eh.h> #include <exception> // This is the function that will be called when a hardware exception (eg Access Violation, Division by Zero etc.)...

The SQLite-API has the function sqlite_last_insert_rowid() to retrieve the ID of the last inserted record.

I'm using SQLite 2.x, but it should be in SQLite 3 too.

You can use Triggers in SQLite to enforce the integrity.

I never used the wxWidgets database classes (I wrote my own). But if the classes in wx give you the option to connect via a connection string, you can use this one: "Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};Dbq=x:\mydatabase.mdb;Uid=Admin;Pwd=;" This way, you should be able to connect to your Access...

Store your Windows in a vector (or wxArray). To display one of your windows, use wxWindow::Show(TRUE). For all the windows that are currently not to be shown use wxWindow::Show(FALSE). That's all :) Something like this: // assuming your windows are stored in m_myWindows, a vector. // You can use a w...

I don't know one for wx. I'm using TService from Code Project. See: http://www.codeproject.com/system/VoitelNTService.asp Had no trouble with it. Has no dependencies on MFC or other Libs. Just derive your Service from that class, implement the pure virtual function ServiceProc() and your're done :) ...

As the message suggetsts: You are using a deprecated C++ construct. The Syntax for template specialisation has changed a few years ago. // Your Template-Class: template<class T> class MyTemplateClass { ... }; //To specialize this class for int the old C++ Syntax was class MyTemplateClass<int> { ... ...

I tried it on a machine from a co-worker. Works fine.

Still no go on my own machine :( We're both behind the same router.

Strange... Any other site is working just fine.

Thanks anyway. Now I know the failure is on my side...

can anyone reach sourceforge.net?

I tried for a few days now with Firefox and Internet Explorer, at home and at work, but to no avail.

All I get is a blank page. No Error, No nothing, just a blank page :(
