These are the ODBC-API-Functions.

I don't know anything about the Mac, but in Windows this would tell you to link ODBC32.lib with your Project.

I voted yes too, because I'm using size_t all over the place and think it is the only right type for a counting variable.

For the -1 case Jorg described. I have no problem with it. Even the C++ Standardlib is doing it (eg std::basic_string<>::npos), so I'm fine with it.

You're trying to return a Copy of the panel. The copy constroctor of wxPanel is private, so your compiler won't do it.

Return a Pointer or reference and you're fine.

But that ignores the systemwide font-settings the user made.

Applications that ignore user settings are bad in my book.

It's not possible.

That is a C++ thingy. An exception can always only be cought in the same thread in wich it is thrown. No way around it as far as I know.

You could catch your exceptions in the thread and post a message with the informations to the other thread.

You should be able to get the Theme-Name. I never tried it, but as far as I can tell, the wxUxThemeEngine is just importing all the functions from uxtheme.dll. So you should be able to do: pTheme->GetCurrentThemeName(); to get the Name of the theme the user is using. For the parameters for GetCurren...

You can :)

Code: Select all

#include <wx/msw/uxtheme.h>

bool isTheUserUsingThemes ()
{
   wxUxThemeEngine *pTheme = wxUxThemeEngine::Get();
   return pTheme && pTheme->IsAppThemed();
}

You can define wxUSE_STL and wxUSE_STD_STRING. wxString is then derived from std::basic_string<>, so it has a push_back and all the other standardfuncs. I used to use STLPort too for a few weeks last year. The Release Build worked fine, but in the Debug Build I had some Errors (wx related). Since VC...

Don't know if this is a "better" way, but personally I'm using a panel as childs of the splitterwindow, for wich I can use sizers as usual.

The only negative point that I found is that Visual Assist does not work with the Express Edition.

Other plugins neither, but VA is the only one I really use.
