monolithic (and all other) build's are better built by using nmake from directory "build\msw"

Code: Select all

nmake -f makefile.vc BUILD=release SHARED=0 MONOLITHIC=1 RUNTIME_LIBS=static USE_XRC=1 UNICODE=0
nmake -f makefile.vc BUILD=debug SHARED=0 MONOLITHIC=1 RUNTIME_LIBS=static USE_XRC=1 UNICODE=0

Dummy wrote:Hi,

what are the differents of building the library with src\wxWindows.dsw (as I did at wxWidgets-2.4.2) and build\msw\wx.dsw (as it is recommended in the install.txt)? ...
guess why they recommend build\msw\wx.dsw ... because it works ! :P

Sorry, i can't find any childrec[c] in wxCoolBar.cpp, so i don't know what could be the problem. For myself i'm working with mingw and the actual cvs-version of wxWidgets. I Tested wxCoolBar with 2.5.4, 2.6.0, 2.6.1. Sorry. it works pretty well with wxMSW2.6.1 here by me, thanks for this cool code !

They release RPMs for Linux... Look at wxGTK 2.4.2- there are many binary packages for it... ahh yes, i see I think releasing some official DLL files would be a smart idea, but I wonder which build options would the official DLL use? that's really a dilemma, anyway it's easier to build it for yours...

Re: Text editor for writing code

What text editor do you use in order to write your code? Surely, the IDE offers such editor. It seems that Autocomplete/Autoindent functions in DevCPP are not flexible enough. Can you say any other free editors that offer C++ AutoComplete? maybe you want to take a look at http://www.jedit.org/ or C...

... I would suggest removing the link to the wx2.4.2 docs and instead adding a link to the official wxWidgets webpage. sorry Avi, but you're too radical. obviously wx 2.6.2 is fine for you, but there may exist other individuals on this planet, for which it doesn't (me including). Have you ever thou...

Oh, and maybe it is a good idea to drop the wx2.4.2 docs link, since the 2.6.x series is the new stable branch... that's NOT a good idea - many projects are existing and working well with wx242, but have a lot of troubles with wx26? it'll need some time until wx26 is THE REAL stable version ...
