The errors you are getting is due to linking of improper C Runtime Libraries (CRT). Assuming you didn't change CRT settings of wxWidgets, your application shall be linked against msvcrtd.lib ; but not libcmtd.lib . Also you should compile your application using /MDd in debug mode and /MD in release...

OK, it worked. Now I have all UD lib files. However link still does not work. My fault, ofcourse, since I am new to VS and it is not so easy to migrate at the same time from wxw 2.6.2 + bcc 5.5 to wxw 2.8.0 + vs 2500 express. I have a lot of warnings like this: wxbase28ud.lib(tarstrm.obj) : warning ...

No wxmsw28ud_adv.lib for link step

I just moved from Borland C++Builder 5.5 to Visual Studio 2005 Express. I was able to build wxWidgets, but now I have a problem building my own application. Please, note that my application is a Unicode one. Compile is ok, but as I try to link I get LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'wxms...

Thank you. I have seen that the author uses wxDELETE rather than delete to destruct an istance. What's the advantage?

Change language interface on the fly

My application support multiple language interfaces and locales. However, when the user select a new language, I have to store it in an INI file so that at the next launch it can be used. If I change the locale on the fly, the interface continue to use the current catalog, even if I use this code to...

unibutton: still necessary?

I am extensively using unibutton component by Julian Smart in my code, since version 1.6.4 of wxWidgets did not fully supported Unicode text in push buttons. I wonder if it is still necessary in 2.8.0. By the way, that code does not compile anymore with the latest version of wxWidgets. In particular...

Problems with wxLocale

I just moved from 2.5.2 to 2.6.0, but my application crashed. I tried to identify the offending instruction, and here it is: #define wbxSTR_LOCALE_PATH wxT("locale") #define wbxSTR_LOCALE_CAT wxT("dictionary") wxLocale * locale ; wxLanguage lang ; lang = wxLANGUAGE_ITALIAN ; locale = new wxLocale() ...

Is it a bug in wxWidgets or a parm to be set?

Got it. In bcc include file stat.h there is #if !defined(__STDC__) && (__BORLANDC__ >= 0x0520) struct stati64 { dev_t st_dev; ino_t st_ino; mode_t st_mode; nlink_t st_nlink; uid_t st_uid; gid_t st_gid; dev_t st_rdev; __int64 st_size; _TIME_T st_atime; _TIME_T st_mtime; _TIME_T st_ctime; }; #endif So...

I really cannot understand why I get that error. I looked for stati64 in both BCC and WXWIDGETS folders, but there is not such a type: only _stati64 and _wstati64 as expected. So where stati64 comes from?

COFF vs OMF

Someone told me that such a problem may occur if any LIB is COFF rather than OMF record type. I do not know what it does mean, but it looks like it is related to wxWidgets new *.lib.... Is it possible?

I just recompiled 2.5.3 but when I try to compile a simple sample I get E:\devel\projects\stuff\removegroup>make -f removegroup.bcc MAKE Version 5.2 Copyright (c) 1987, 2000 Borland if not exist bcc_mswd mkdir bcc_mswd ilink32 -Tpe -q -LD:\Development\bcc\lib -LD:\Development\bcc\lib\psdk -v -LD:\De...

Compilation of latest CVS version failed in Unicode mode

I am trying to compile latest version of wxWidgets from CVS with Unicode set ON, but I get the following error which prevents me to create libraries: bcc32 -q -c -P -obcc_mswu\baselib_mslu.obj -ID:\Development\bcc\include -v- -O1 -tWM -D__WXMSW__ -D_UNICODE -I..\..\include -I..\..\lib\bcc_lib\mswu -...

Re: Code to convert Unicode files among different formats

[quote="Ryan Norton" See wx/strconv.h and wxMBConvXXX classes in the docs [/quote] I know those classes, Ryan, and I use them in my application. However I am not sure I am using them in the optimal way. It is very difficult to find Unicode expertize in wxWidgets community. Probably there are few Uni...

Code to convert Unicode files among different formats

Have anybody developed code to convert files from UTF-16 or UTF-32 to UTF-8, and vice versa?

unibutton

I modified button.cpp to fully support Unicode, but only on Windows platforms. Is it still valid code, or new 2.5.3 version is making my code obsolete?

You can find my code in http://www.dejudicibus.it/dizionario/co ... ton098.zip. Feel free to download it and use it.
