I didn't look at everything, but this seems strange... SetValue()->WxEditLedresistor5=Resistance; I would have done that instead: WxEditLedresistor5->SetValue(Resistance); Assuming that WxEditLedresistor5 is an instance of an object that you have declared before. You will also have to parse Resistan...

Questions about wxSMTP and SMTP protocol

Hi all, I tried to implement myself a little smtp client. It was for me a good way to start with wxWidgets and also to study a little bit the SMTP protocol. I used stmp.gmail.com as server for my test. I can communicate with it but when i tried to send a message (so when i send a MAIL FROM... messag...

Thank you for your help. Your code works and so i tested different things based on that.

It appears that it doesn't react if i specify the input event in the connect method. So i'll have to put just socket event then check which one it is.

Again thanks.

I would like not to use the event table but use Connect instead of it.

Just like that :

Code: Select all

Connect( ID_About, wxEVT_COMMAND_MENU_SELECTED,
		(wxObjectEventFunction) &TestClientFrame::OnAbout );
To link a menu event to a method.

Isn't it possible for the sockets?

ok, but there is nothing more than a static text to show what is in the socket. This is it: TestClientFrame::TestClientFrame(const wxString& title, const wxPoint& pos, const wxSize& size) : wxFrame((wxFrame*)NULL,-1,title,pos,size) { p_Log = new wxStaticText(this,wxID_ANY,wxT(""),wxDefaultPosition,w...

I thank you for the link but... you gave me a subject which is a little bit to advance for what i want to do.

I don't want (yet) to decouple io from gui.

I just want the OnReceive method to be called when ever the input event of the socket is thrown.

Can't connect Socket Events

Hi, I am keeping on testing things to discover wxWidget and i have another problem. I have a wxSocketClient as a member of a class inheriting from wxFrame. I'm trying to connect a method of this class to the input event of the socket. So this is my code, in the constructor of the class: p_cSock = ne...

Ok i have few things to say: i feel stupid... because i new you have to send a request to have a reply... but i don't know why, i just thought about some response to the connection... I have a strange feeling about that because in my previous tests, i had plenty of WaitForRead and it always succeede...

How to display a socket content in a readdable way??

Hi, I'm new to wxWidget so i'm trying to figure out what i can do. One of my experiment was to simply connect a wxSocketClient to a server and just display the content that can be read in the socket. My problem is that i obtained a strange display. Step by step: -I used the sample named Client in wx...
