Maybe I'm still rusty on my C++, but you have to declare a variable type when creating it, no?

Code: Select all

wxSpinReal *spinReal = new wxSpinReal(...)

Nah, I've just manually set the size (again, since it's a static size), and used it as such. Even still, this seems to be a big problem with the control, and should probably be addressed by the developers at some point.

Thanks again!

Sort of...

Check out the attachment. This is when I choose wxDefaultSize instead of explicitly setting it. Seems it only shows the last X amount of it (not a great default size, anyway).

I'm just wondering why you would want to run the GUI in a different thread if it's already in one?

Well, it's a simple dialog, so I don't really want to start getting involved with sizers, considering that none of the components are ever going to move (they are static). If this is the case, is there any way to simply put it in a sizer at location (x,y), that will fit to it's contents? ----------E...

That would make sense, since I am putting it directly into the frame. But how could something like that affect it?

Any quick way I'd be able to fix this, or will I have to wait for the next release?

Sure does.

Here's the weird part: It sorta works when I give it an explicit size of wxSize(400, 200). It shows a small text area, but no apparent button... until you realize the button is underneath the text area!

Attachment of issue.

Yes, I do know that, and it's exactly what I'd like, but my usage of it seems to only give me a square of a textbox, and no clickable button to open the directory chooser dialog.

DirPickerCtrl

Hey! I've got a problem. I'm using DirPickerCtrl using the following: wxDirPickerCtrl *currentDirectoryPicker = new wxDirPickerCtrl(this, ID_DirectoryPicker, wxEmptyString, _("Choose a root directory for your music"), wxPoint(5, 25), wxDefaultSize, wxDIRP_USE_TEXTCTRL | wxDIRP_DIR_MUST_EXIST); Apart...

Just go to the page for the class you want to check out, and look at the info at the top. Should show you that information; You can also check out the libraries list for those sort of things.

For me, it's as simple as installing mingw, msys, and wxwidgets, using msys to cd into the wxwidgets directory, ./configure-ing, and make && make install-ing.
