Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for RC3 and will try to test it on Windows XP. I hope it is announced so more users can test it to catch regressions like the one introduced in 2.8.3. Chris has mentioned today that he is planning on spinning the official 2.8.4 release on Monday. There is one or two las...

Does anyone know what happened to 2.8.4? It looked like it was going to be released within several days (twice) but then silence. I checked the dev mailing list archives, too. wx2.8.4-rc2 had bugs for windows; it appeared to be OK for Linux. No idea on Mac. I would guess that this weekend an rc3 wi...

wxMemoryMappedFile source is located where?

I am a code::blocks user and the current SVN code wants a include file called "memorymappedfile.h" and it maybe should have wxMemoryMappedFile class defined in it. I found on this link below, but the links on that page are all bad. Where is the code? Tim S http://wxcode.sourceforge.net/showcomp.php?...

WXUNIV on Windows XP Should __WXMSW__ be defined

I am doing some wxWidgets patches to CVS-Head and I decided I needed to test the patches in various settings. So, I decided to try a wxWidgets make using minGW gcc using WXUNIV=1( which defines __WXUNIVERSAL__) , the wxWidgets compiled OK. The problem is the app I am testing is giving several compil...

mingw32-make --version
returns GNU make 3.80

make --version
returns GNU make 3.79 (this is only if MSYS make is installed)

What does your make --version return?

Note: Most things want GNU make 3.80 or greater.

It is fixed in CVS Head; or at least a similar issue is. If using 2.8rc1 upgrade these files. Patches to wxWidgets 2.8.0rc1 (CVS Tag WX_2_8_0_rc1): Fix to Bitmaps are not loading in toolbars (resource archive). Upgrade /src/common/fs_arc.cpp to CVS version 1.5 [Needed by Window Users] Upgrade /src/x...

instead of using MSYS try doing it direct from cmd.exe: start>run>cmd hit enter. set path=[Path_to_MingW];%PATH; cd Directory make -f makefile.gcc Let me know if that works. I build my MingW stuff from cmd and not from MSYS I never use "set path=[Path_to_MingW];%PATH;" because if cygwin is in the %...

I posted a patch that fixed this boolean issue for me under 2.6.3.

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.ph ... tid=309863

Copy file to wxWidgets folder.

The command to patch is
patch --unified -p0 --input=mypatch_2.6_BRANCH.patch

You should NOT rename setup0.h in windows, you should copy it in the same folder to the name setup.h. Then you can edit the values in setup.h if it is needed. Some uses of wxWidgets have you edit setup.h. renaming setup0.h will break some programs because they work with the idea that setup0.h exists...

Would it make sense to have a deprecated function wxDialog::OnOK in 2.7.1 that was just wxDialog::OnOK() { EndDialog(wxID_OK); } Otherwise you need #ifdefs to separate code for 2.6.x and 2.7.x (since the EndDialog function isn't present in the 2.6.x branch). I could be mistaken, but I thought that ...
