Re: Ubuntu 19.10 & webkit

19.10 is too problematic, so I went back to 18.04.

Following VZ advice in Trac, I added ',webview' to lib_std and the problem was resolved.

Re: Ubuntu 19.10 & webkit

I was trying with 3.1.3. ../configure --with-gtk=3 failed with package gtk+-3.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path The configure implies that GTK+ was not correctly installed. My installation is vanilla from 19.10 ISO , (as a vbox guest with windows 10 host), with libgtk2.0-dev and libpng12...

Re: GTK : build failure with wxLog

Thanks for the quick reply. wxWidgets is built using DialogBlocks with the settings below, which I am not sure how to link to your first comment. http://www.pixname.com/00%20WebView/GTKSettings.jpg The webview sample runs ok as far as I could judge, but does not do what I am doing, and which works o...

GTK : build failure with wxLog

Using wxWidgets 3.1.3 under Ubuntu 18.04/GTK2 to build my application fails (both for GTKDebug and GTKRelease) with the following message: Makefile:130: recipe for target 'GTKDebug/AccountsManager' failed *** /home/raanan/wxWidgets/GCCBuildReleaseGTK2Unicode/lib/libwx_gtk2u_webview-3.1.a(webviewlib_...

Generate hyperlink event

My application has a wxHyperlinkCtrl, associated with an event handler which processes a wxHyperlinkEvent.

When the HyperlinkCtrl is clicked, the event handler processes the event and the specified url is opened.

Is there a way to generate the event from the application, bypassing the click?

test mouse button maintained pressed

The only way I found to detect that a mouse button is maintained in Down position is to set a variable to true and launch a timer. The variable is set to false when the button is released, and this is caught bu the timer. Is there a simpler way to detect if mouse button is maintained in down position?

Re: Smoothing image scaling

Thanks for the tip.

wxWidget documentation is quite slim, and does not include a wxImage.

I scoured the internet for an example of how to use wxGraphicContext to do what my code does, but to no avail.

An example would be welcome.

Smoothing image scaling

To display a picture of 4000x3000 (Image) in a 800x600 display area, I use a scaled image which squeezes the picture into the display area: wxImage* scaledImage = new wxImage(Image->Scale(800, 600)); in OnPaint(): wxBufferedPaintDC dc(this); dc.DrawBitmap(wxBitmap(*scaledImage), wxPoint(0,0), false)...

Re: wxListCtrl & client data

There was no crash, but the results were not as expected.

This was due to an error in setting the client data, due to a complicated mechanism of gathering data.

So the error is on me and not the algorithm.

Re: wxListCtrl & client data

So the documentation statement ( NOT the index) is too strong, inasmuch as the index is a natural unique identifier in the list. I changed the minimal.cpp in the link above to m_item_list->SetItemData(new_item, new_item); instead of the original m_item_list->SetItemData(new_item, n); and it works co...

wxListCtrl & client data

The documentation for wxListCtrl states that sorting a listctrl requires client data and that SetItemData() has to used to associate that data with the listctrl items. I have searched widely and did not find an explanation about what exactly is meant by Client data, nor what it should be for sorting...
