wxLog implementation and unicode

this is driving me nuts. I am converting to unicode due to new 2.9.1 version (which really is a great step ahead!) and having a bit trouble understanding it. Maybe someone can advise what is correct and what not. As I understood the documentation all debug statements should look like this with unico...

Re: Events linking

Hello! I have a little link problem with my events. The main app uses my own dll library which contains my custom events. The events are declared in the dll and used both in the dll and in the main app. In the dll when I declare the events by DECLARE_EVENT_TYPE(MY_CUSTOM_EVENT) I've been using wxDE...

Re: GUI thread --> Main Thread?

My problem is that a TCPServer object is created in a script. TCPServer creates a new thread to handle incoming requests. Because my main method immediately exits, the TCPServer is also destroyed. The solution I was thinking about: compile/run the script in a separate thread, and let that thread wa...

Re: GUI thread --> Main Thread?

Is it necessary that the GUI thread is the same as the main thread? Is it allowed to create a new thread, and do all the GUI stuff in this new thread? I've done a lot with theads, but never tried that. Maybe because it would mean that consequently all GUI stuff needed to be in that thread including...

I guess SetAxisOrientation() doesn't move the origin, try adding something like this before SetAxisOrientation(): dc.SetDeviceOrigin( 0, dc.GetSize().GetHeight()-1 ); Thanks doublemax, that did the job! Actually I did try SetAxisOrientation, but with the parameters (0,0) which obviously wasn't any ...

DC SetAxisOrientation

I guess I ran into an old problem, but I could not really find an answer in the forums applicable to MSW port. I'm using wxPaintDC to render some lines on a wxPanel surface. I wanted to use wxPaintDC::SetAxisOrientation(true, true) so I could have my origin in the lower left. Code snippet from OnPai...

I have this trouble with the 2.8.11 wx.chm file: - nothing is found in the search tab - index tab just contains one member of a class Is there also a patched chm-file for 2.8.11? I would not know about patches of that one, but I can recommend contacting the wx-users/Dev list If you can give them a ...

Why in new wx.chm, wxTextCtrl does't have Clear() member? It does. Just scroll below the list of member functions and click on "List of all members". This will also show the inherited functions. Among them is Clear(). Actually, I think its a quite useful feature of the new doxygen version of the he...

Re: wxwidgets 2.9.0: wx.chm file

I get your point now. Post it to wx-users/Dev list http://groups.google.com/group/wx-users Thanks for that hint. Chris Elliott hat a look at it and found a solution for the problem. There is a corrected wx.chm file available now at http://biolpc22.york.ac.uk/pub/Daily_HEAD/Win/ Thanks Chris for you...

Re: wxwidgets 2.9.0: wx.chm file

Nope it doesn't. It is redundant since you can search at the other tab. Unfortunately its not redundant, because the search index is by far larger. For example try to search for "EVT_CHECKBOX". Index Tab does not find anything, Search Tab leads you into the wxCheckBox page to the error handling sec...

Re: wxwidgets 2.9.0: wx.chm file

I dont remember the tab, but you type in and it searches automatically. For example, typing in "wxStringTo" will bring among other results, wxStringTokenizer then double click will do the Job :) Thanks for your feedback. I have the same behaviour under the Tab "Index". Does this work for you in the...

I could reproduce it on several computers. Really strange.
Would be helpful to know that s.o. got it working on their system. Thanks.

Re: Version 2.9.0 with msvs6.0 warning4786

Do you mean the version 2.6.X was compiled with browse info without this warning? I can't believe it :) I am using that option ever since. Acutally I found this by tracing down make file differences between the sample under 2.8 I was using and the default setting of 2.9 that showed the problem. The...
Yes, at the time of when I used this old kind compiler :) Do not pay attention, it is harmless And, whenever possible, use more up today compilers :)
I agree its harmless, but quite annoying. I was just wondering because it came in with the new version only. So it seems an inco...
