On mac GCC, you can use -Wmost instead of -Wall - it will display warnings but discard those that just seem to be uselessly nitpicking

however i don't know if this option is part of GCC or just in apple's version

don't know if this might help you, but how about using template classes? you'll only have to write that template once and then you can store whatever you want in it, in whatever project you want ;) My God. I've heard about templates before, but I'm still struggling with simple classes. I'll...

Hi, You need to rebuild wxWidgets (into a different dir, of course) with the --disable-shared configure option. That's why I builded another wx in e.g. buildgtk-static/ and performed a '../configure --disable-shared' I think it's already done ;) Could you show what command you use to link? wx-confi...

would be interesting to see how you create, store and pass Config, and how you alter it (i.e. code snippets or minimal code sample demonstrating issue?)

#error : "OpenGL required: set wxUSE_GLCANVAS to 1 and rebuild the library"
I have never used wx on windows so i cannot answer precisely, but on mac and linux you needed to compile with the --with-opengl option to enable opengl, otherwise you got a similar error message. Did you enable opengl?

My understanding is that the current plan is to take the wxMac (which is carbon) and port that to cocoa (lifting things from wxCocoa) Hmm AFAIK you can't port Carbon code to Cocoa without doing nearly a full rewrite, since they're very different - not even in the same programming language Or maybe ...

Indeed, following the instructions in the install file and/or wiki should be good. establish a kind of "static" library run the "configure" script and type "make in the console" However you do not seem to be confortable with libs and console, getting a little knowledge in this area would probably ma...

Well this is not quite related to wxWidgets  Well XCode and Visual C++ are IDEs... so you need to look for an IDE - there are many to choose from. Code::Blocks, Anjuta, KDevelop, many others You can also just use a plain text editor + build system (makefile, scons, etc.) Depending on your need...

wxAUI can be similar in that it holds many different panes in a single window instead of multiplicating windows.

I like that better than MDI - it avoids multiplicating windows, without the grey background.
