Re: Compiling on Mac

Okay, you do not seem to have installed wx-widgets system-wide, so you will need to use the full path to wx-config ("bash: wx-config: command not found" was the hint). Something like `/Users/Macintosh/wxWidgets-2.9.4/osx_build/wx-config --cxxflags --libs` (check if the path is OK for you, I'm guessi...

Re: port a Windows application to Mac OSX ,Xcode 4.2, 2.9.4

Maybe you can share the backtrace of where it crashes. This sounds like you might be incorrectly using wxGLCanvas so maybe you can share some code too

Re: Compiling on Mac

Hi, first I'm not sure what is the problem, because compiling wxWidgets on OSX is done nearly exactly the same way as on ubuntu?? how can I compile C++ with the wxWidgets library in the Terminal on Mac? by "compile C++" I suppose you mean "compile a C++ project that uses wxWidgets"? then the exact s...

Re: Problem Static Library

Also you are using mingw apparently. If you really want the smallest size possible I guess you should use visual studio

PS: about html I don't think you need to disable any flag. Just build non-monolithic, and html will be in a separate library that you have no need to use

Re: Problem Static Library

You don't need to use jpeg to make wx require libjpeg : wxImage uses libjpeg, and wxImage is enabled in all builds by default. So a default build WILL require libjpeg. If you want really small executables I think you may have a hard time with wx. The wx approach is "hard disk space is cheap, let's o...

Re: wxMac program installation

Well I'd like to conform to the "*nix standards": programs needs to use dynamic linking. Most programs do. Hmm I think you're giving yourself trouble for a useless reason then. OSX is not a regular unix in terms of packaging, binaries are usually self-contained. (actually even on linux, you can som...

Re: wxMac program installation

About static libs : Not quite true. wxWidgets can be built into static binaries on OSX, pass --disable-shared to configure. I suggest you do that and be happy! If for some reason you can't, what's next : the recommendation is to place the library (wxWidgets) inside the bundle and make my program che...

codeblocks crashes should probably be reported on the codeblocks forum, where IMO they belong

Re: wxObjArray or std::vector ?

I suggest the STL then just because it's widely used and as such you can find a lot of information about it on the internet. Much more than about wxObjArray.

Re: compile wxwidgets with odbc in linux

wxODBC is deprecated and will be removed in wx 3.0. I suggest you simply don't use it and look for a better alternative

Re: error while starting codeblocks-svn compiled with wxWidg

I'm not sure what is the link between CodeBlocks and wxPython. But in any case this appears to be a CodeBlocks issue, it should probably be reported on their forum and not here

Re: Errors compiling 2.9.4 on OS X 10.7.4

Maybe you can try latest SVN instead of 2.9.4? the OSX port is moving quickly so best try with the most recent version before reporting bugs

Does this mean I have explicitly specify "-arch x86_64" somewhere during configure? What is the proper option there?

Thank you.
No I beleive Snow Leopard defaults to 64-bits too
