This question can probably be asked on the mailing list. I don't expect wxWidgets to get that by default for a good time simply because it will take so much time for most people to upgrade to C++11 capable compilers. Maybe the devs can consider a C++11 mode though

Maybe you already have, but just to be sure, have you tried starting fromt he "recipe" described in http://wiki.wxwidgets.org/Scrolling#Scrolling_widgets ?

"make: *** [install_basedll] Error 1" is typically not the error itself, please go up the log a bit, normally the actual error message is a bit above that. Also I notice in previous posts you are doing `wx-config --cxxflags --libs -arch 64` first the flag is -arch x64, second this doesn't go inside ...

You could always report this on the bug tracker, but there warnings seem quite harmless to me and safe to ignore (sizers will not deal with values larger than a screen, so there is no realistic risk to overflow 32 bits, although the compiler doesn't know that)

I would personally ask, why do you need them? I would suggest using the standard C ones. wxStrings can be easily converted where needed using (const char*)mystring.utf8_str().

You might also want to use the wxLog API instead of printing
